A day at the heart of creation

As part of its artistic outreach mission, Maison Collar held an immersion day at L’Odyssée Dominique-Racine School. This encounter offered students the opportunity to step into the heart of the artist’s creative process and to take part in completing a large-scale triptych.

For this experience, Collar envisioned three vertical canvases measuring 72 × 60 inches: a portrait initiated by the artist, in dialogue with two abstract works whose textures were shaped in the studio. Conceived as a guided space for exploration, these works allowed students to engage with the Maison’s visual codes: materiality, the search for balance, and the interplay between oil pastel and acrylic.

The artist Collar presented his approach, his artistic universe, and the importance of gesture in the construction of a work. The students were then invited to contribute to the canvases, under his artistic direction, in a spirit of collaboration that respected the Maison’s visual signature.

“ I love seeing how the next generation of creators draws inspiration from my universe and my archives. ”

— Collar

At the end of the day, the triptych was completed and officially unveiled. Maison Collar gifted the final work to the institution, marking this collaboration with a lasting imprint.

This immersion reflects the Maison’s commitment to sharing its expertise and supporting young creativity. Now preserved in the official archives of Maison Collar, this day remains a meaningful moment of exchange, gesture, and artistic heritage.
